“– My goal is to simply clarify the fact that there is a false sense of scarcity surrounding human potential, learning and education. We are scrambling for solutions to an educational crisis involving profound inequalities of learning opportunity between the haves and have-nots. This is based entirely on the idea that there is only so much education to go around, only so many opportunities to learn. There must therefore be competition for opportunity, as if education is a zero-sum game and more learning for you, means less learning for me. – “

Dr. Zachery Stein is a writer, speaker, and transformative educator working to bring a greater sense of justice and sanity to education. Stein studied philosophy and religion at Hampshire College, and then educational neuroscience, human development, and the philosophy of education at Harvard University. Today he offers human development and learning science consultations to schools, organizations, and educational technology companies. Among other things, he is a co-founder of The Consilience Project, which is dedicated to improving public sensemaking and building a movement to radically upgrade digital media landscapes.
